Title: Mmm
Medium: Ceramic

Initially being given the letter ‘m’ Jackson was drawn to the sound that it makes and which is a word used in everyday parlance. In particular she started thinking about the deliciousness of ‘mmm’, and how they might make something delicious in clay, a translation into material. However the artist  soon realised that ‘mmm’ has so many meanings and is perceived with wildly different interpretations, therefore instead thought about ‘mmm’ as just that, a carrier of many various meanings. So using only extrusions, in all its various forms, Jackson set about creating arrangements which might express or represent the enthusiasm, uncertainty, excitement, dubiousness, deliciousness and more of ‘mmm’, leaving it open to the interpretation of the viewer and what it arouses in them.
