Title: A is for “Architecture”
Medium: Textile, quilting
This Geometric quilt is inspired by the Cube Houses (kubuswoningen) located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This textile piece explores colour ratios and structural features incorporated within the most interesting buildings personally experienced. Designed in 1977 by Dutch architect Piet Blom, the cube houses were designed at 45 degree angles with the purpose to optimise space inside. The unique design of these buildings forms the basis of the quilts' geometric pattern and design.
