Title: My Journal
This is a print of a selection of images and words from my journal. I keep a journal to jot down my thoughts, notes, reminders and so on. My notes are often accompanied by sketches. Thus, I end up with drawings that have a notational element. I flick back to find inexplicable words next to irrelevant images. I enjoy that about notebooks - once a page is turned it’s unlikely I’ll look back for a while, and by the time I do I’ve forgotten what is there. I might find a portrait next to ‘DON’T FORGET! Sheena Easton, Donna Summer!!’ because I get songs stuck in my head and I write them down to listen to later. It’s for this reason that I think journals and sketchbooks are so much fun.
