Title:
L is for love

The Ancient Greek Phoenician alphabet was the one of the earliest discovered alphabets. Using five female characters from Greek legend, mythology and fable, Patti has explored the word “love”.

“Love” in Ancient Greek was described using not one word, but five, each of which represented different types of love. Using the works of famous Greek orators, poets, philosophers and historians from Herodotus, and Homer to Euripides and Hesiod, Patti has embedded the meaning of each of these words into 5 pieces of art using symbolic Greek geomtery to express to the goddesses, minor goddess, a devoted mortal and a nymph, which through the written works, have become powerful representations of these types of love; agape, eros, storge (or philia), pragma and ludus.
